§ 14-12. Operation of vehicles on streets with other than pneumatic tires.

  • Any person operating a vehicle equipped with anything other than pneumatic tires upon any street or highway in the city shall be required to secure a permit for the use of such street or highway by the vehicles, from the street commissioner and such person shall designate upon the permit such streets or highways to be used by the vehicles and shall be required to post a bond with the city clerk in an amount sufficient to cover any damage done to streets or highways by the vehicles, the amount of said bond to be determined by and subject to the approval of the street commissioner and the city engineer. A one dollar ($1.00) fee shall be charged for issuance of each permit. Any person violating any provisions of this section shall be subject to fine of one hundred dollars ($100.00) or imprisonment in the county jail for not more than thirty (30) days or both.
