§ 16-46. Parking of nonmotorized vehicles on city streets.

  • (a)

    No airplane, boat, house car, mobile home, horse trailer, house trailer, semitruck trailer, or other trailer for such vehicle or vehicles whether such vehicle is on the trailer or not shall be permitted to be parked, stand or stored upon a highway or upon land areas devoted by the parking authority of the city or within the limits of a city or state right-of-way within a residential zone as those zones may be defined, from time to time, by the planning and zoning commission of the city, unless the trailer or vehicle is temporarily disabled for not to exceed twenty-four (24) hours while so disabled.

    (b)

    This section shall not apply to a commercial vehicle which is parked on a city highway for the purpose of loading or unloading during its ordinary course of business.

    (c)

    The registered owner of any vehicle shall be presumed to be the operator of such vehicle.

    (d)

    The violation of this section shall be punished by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100.00). Each day any such violation shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.
