§ 8-56. Suitability of licensees.

  • The chief of police may require such information as will disclose whether the applicant has been convicted of keeping a house of ill-fame or assignation, or a house in which lewd, dissolute or drunken person resort or which has been used for the purpose of gaming. If any applicant shall have been convicted of any of the aforesaid offenses or has such criminal record that the chief of police reasonably believes that he is not a suitable person to be licensed hereunder, he may in his discretion, so advices the housing code enforcement officer not to issue a license to the applicant.
